Passport Photo Guidance Follow the official tips on how your photos should not be taken

BEAT THE rush to renew your burgundy passport and enjoy sanity for another ten years.

Passport photos are a vital part of your application. If your photos are not suitable, your passport will be delayed.

Follow the instructions below so you can get it right first time.

Look straight at the camera.

No hats are allowed – particularly that hat.

No smiling (easy for UK citizens) but no frowning either (virtually impossible)

No hair across the eyes!

Best not to pose with prohibited items

Nice try but different part of anatomy required

No sunglasses. No head covering unless you wear one for religious beliefs / medical reasons

No dummies

Good luck and Bon Voyage.
